Meet Wendi: Since joining Serenwood in 2013, Wendi has been working with a range of clients on specific projects and day-to-day engagements. She enjoys getting to know her clients and delivering practical and hands-on advice.

Wendi’s area of expertise covers a broad base of day-to-day commercial contracts, supply-chain arrangements, technology contracts and IT procurement. She also has particular expertise in advising clients on the protection and exploitation of their intellectual property.

 

Home: Wendi lives in Harrogate with her husband, Phil, and 2 lively sons, Tom and Jonny.

Previous career: Prior to Serenwood, Wendi was a Senior Associate at DLA Piper LLP for over 12 years, working across a mix of commercial, IP and IT law. Wendi qualified as a Solicitor in 2001 with Walker Morris LLP.

Downtime: Wendi volunteers with the local junior football team and can often be found brandishing a clip board at the side of the football pitch on Saturday mornings.

First ever job: Working in a paper shop on a Sunday morning, helping myself to Pick N Mix.

First record bought: The Boomtown Rats “I Don’t Like Mondays” [which still rings true today!]

Favourite book:  I am never far from my Kindle. I enjoy reading all sorts, from classics to easy reading bestsellers.  I’m currently rediscovering the joys of Roald Dahl with my son.

Favourite film: These days I only get to see kids’ films; although I have to say I enjoyed the new Star Wars film more than I thought I would.

Favourite gadget: iPhone; unfortunately I can’t live without it.

Favourite holiday: One where we don’t have any tantrums (either children or husband).

Luxury [she] cannot live without: Our annual trip to Northumbria:  the castles, the beaches, the pubs, the wide open spaces and the lack of phone reception.

What is your motto in life? Oh go on, let’s open another bottle…

If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? Free wine.  Is that a perk? It should be.

If you could pick a celebrity to join the Serenwood team who would it be and why?  One of our Olympians from Team GB. For their inspiration, dedication and winning mentality.

Who is your role model and why? I was once asked this question at University and I answered “my mum”. That still applies today. She’s funny, kind and loves people.

If Wendi did not work for Serenwood, she would be… staring out of an office window in some Law Firm wishing she was doing something different!

What is your favourite inspirational quote? “Only dead fish go with the flow”.  I read that on the wall of someone’s loo once.

What is your superpower? To be in two places at once. The dilemma of every working parent.
